Ponytails are the easiest way to style up your hair. But how do you make it to look just perfect?
A ponytail is nothing more than your hair fixed all in the same spot in the back of your head. Sound easy, right? Now let’s make it more complicated: try playing with the height, the texture, the volume. Make it fit just right!
1. Hide the rubber-band
If you want to hide your rubber-band, just use a strain of your hair and wrap it around it.
If your hair is thick, a small section from the lower part of your tail will cover it up, then fix it with bobby pins. If your hair is thin you can use an extension the same color of your hair and it will look just fine.
2. How high?
Ponytails can be placed based on your hair’s texture and length. So if your hair is straight and long, you can place it either really high or really low. If your hair is naturally wavy or curly, then you can put it right in the middle or higher.
3. Side ponytails are just gorgeous
A side ponytail is the best option if your hair is not that freshly washed, if you’re in a hurry or if you don’t want to put tension on your head with a high ponytail.
So you can make some loose curls, place them in a low side ponytail that leaves it hanging on your shoulder. Take a smaller section to hide the rubber-band. Remember to fix it with a bit of hairspray. Also, for textured ponytails, you should use a glow leave-in spray.
4. Keep the hair healthy
Never go to sleep with a ponytail! Remove the rubber-band unless you want to wake up with strain. Also, avoid making tight ponytails too often. They can cause headaches and damage your hair. Go for loose ones instead.
Use hairspray to place shorter hairs that won’t fit in the ponytail.
5. Go wild with your imagination!
Most ponytail wearing ladies tend to make the same type of ponytail all the time. Try something different! Make a double side ponytail! Make fishtails or go for retro ponytail-based hairstyle. This way, you will look fresh all the time, even if you wear a ponytail everyday, as long as they’re different.
